The Precious Metals Value Comparison from Allegiance Gold compares the price of a gold or silver coin or bar with its precious-metal content. Use it to calculate a premium over spot, compare products of the same metal, and see how many whole units fit your budget.

Product presets use current Allegiance Gold shop prices for one item. Spot references use the same nFusion USD ask quotes per troy ounce shown on our homepage. Prices refresh while the tool is open. Quantity discounts, payment fees, taxes, shipping and availability can change the final checkout total.

Compare products in four steps

1. Choose two gold products or two silver products.
2. Set the amount you want to compare.
3. Run the analysis to compare premiums, metal per dollar, purchasable whole units and cash remaining.
4. To review another quote, choose “Check a quote I’ve been given” and enter its product price and metal weight.

Gold and silver premium calculator questions

What is a premium over spot?

The premium is the amount above the reference value of the precious metal in the product. Premium percentage equals (product price ÷ metal value − 1) × 100. Metal value equals the spot reference per troy ounce multiplied by the product’s precious-metal ounces.

Can I buy the fractional units shown in the comparison?

The large comparison figures describe equivalent metal per dollar. Physical purchases require whole units. The tool separately lists whole units you can buy and the cash left over, so an equivalent figure is not presented as a purchasable quantity.

Can I compare gold ounces directly with silver ounces?

No. Their values differ. This tool blocks mixed-metal ounce comparisons; compare two products of the same metal.

Does a lower premium always mean a better purchase?

No. Collectibility, condition, product size, availability and resale considerations also matter. Melt-value comparisons exclude collectible value and dealer buy-back spreads. This educational calculator is not investment advice, an appraisal or a guaranteed buy-back offer.
